Matus Kaewdum (b. 2000, Chiang Mai, Thailand) Matus Kaewdum graduated from the Faculty of Communication Arts at Chulalongkorn University. He began creating collage artworks in 2020 from an interest in political and social issues, later developing his practice under the name “Cerebrum_art.original,” inspired by the cerebrum — the part of the brain associated with thought, memory, emotion, and perception. Similar to collage art, it reflects the coexistence of diverse and contrasting elements within a unified form. His works explore spiritual experiences, mythology, and local narratives through the reinterpretation of symbolic imagery and historical references. Matus is particularly interested in how belief systems and collective memories are constructed, transformed, and shaped by social and political contexts. Although his visual language references traditional aesthetics, his creative process primarily utilizes digital collage techniques. Through layered imagery and fragmented compositions, his works reflect the tension between past and present while questioning how inherited beliefs and narratives continue to evolve over time.

The flower dancer
Rp 349.000
Fabrics
Inspired by Dance by Henri Matisse, this design reflects the idea that stories, emotions, and memories continue to exist all around us, each carrying its own rhythm and life. The dancing figures symbolize an invisible connection between people, myths, and the experiences that shape our understanding of the world. Printed on a comfortable oversized T-shirt, the artwork uses a high-quality direct-to-fabric printing technique that allows the ink to penetrate the fibers of the fabric. This creates a soft, breathable finish where the print becomes part of the garment itself, rather than sitting on its surface, helping it remain durable without peeling or cracking through regular washing.
