Joyfullyscribbled is an illustration based practice by Crystal (Crysthalia), a growing creative from Surabaya, Indonesia. Her work is rooted in daydreams and playful storytelling, serving as a way to express her fascination with all things nostalgic. She takes inspiration from vintage children’s media, ranging from magazines, snack packaging to personal memories of everyday's stories. Altogether, she transforms these ideas and narratives into anthromopic illustrations and printed matter. Beyond being crafty and artsy, Joyfullyscribbled serves as a lifelong personal project that record her growth as both an artist and a person, and an archive of memories amidst the uncertainties of adulthood.
