Asmara Wreksono is a Jakarta-based artist focusing on colorful ligne-claire style illustrations in all their flat, 2D glory. Her interest in ligne-claire style stemmed from her love of 1980s Belgian comics such as Asterix, Smurf, Steven Sterk, and many more. This style is significant due to its use of bold black outline, where 'ligne-claire' means 'clear lines' in English. Asmara uses this style on many mediums, from digital, paper, to canvas. Asmara participates in JICAF 2026 to solidify her illustration work, which puts a spotlight on Biblical art. The 12 illustrations featured are derived from selected popular Bible stories and verses.
