Senikanji

Senikanji is an art project who starting by Father & Son, Supomo & Yulius Iskandar. Supomo started his job as a full-time artist in 2019, two years after retiring from his work at a factory in 2017. The 66-year-old man began to draw illustration since he was a little kid autodidact without formal art education and started hand lettering in 2016, which was then greeted back by his son's initiative to create an Instagram account with @senikanji as his username. Known for his distinctive hand lettering, @senikanji presents vintage Chinese poster-like artworks, with Chinese characters and sentences that translate roughly from Indonesian. He got his Mandarin skills from the Mandarin course he had for five months in 2005. This modest illustration and witty punchlines from this father & son collaboration reinforces the identity of their artwork and makes @senikanji one of a kind. Until now, @senikanji active continue do some project & collaboration with other brand, artist, musician, media - across genre, generation & dimension.
