Plomp is a fictional character created by Indonesian artist and designer Wisnu Purbandaru in 2025. Plomp was originally developed as an experimental original character that could grow into a larger creative universe through stories, illustrations, and collectible toys. The idea was born from Wisnu’s playful exploration at Hanamakesalot ceramic studio, a creative workspace known for producing tableware and homedecor products. Because of this background, the first series was called “Gnomes of the Dining Table,” featuring nine unique characters that act as guardian spirits of the kitchen and dining room. Inside the world known as the “Kilniverse,” these characters become heroes who protect the balance of everyday dining life. The original lineup includes Spatula Tarantula, Carmen Napoleon, Jaws Washington, Crabby Lemmy, Mr. Plankinson, Bearnard Pak, Marx The Leftover Fish, Mamang Kelomang, and Flaming Hog. Each character carries its own personality, visual identity, and role within the imaginative universe. Plomp represents creativity, humor, and the spirit of handcrafted art culture. As the Kilniverse continues to grow, the story hints that where there are heroes, villains will eventually appear, opening possibilities for future adventures, conflicts, and world-building within the expanding Plomp universe.

Every hero needs a villain, and the GURMPs fill that role. Each one is handcrafted and exists as a unique, one-of-one character. Collecting means defeating it, and it won’t reappear again in its original form. Instead, it will evolve into a new character, opening new chapter of the Kilniverse.
