Ian, known creatively as Ku.Ian, is an emerging illustrator based in Bandung who is currently pursuing a degree in Interior Design at the Faculty of Art and Design, Bandung Institute of Technology. With a deep interest in watercolor illustration, his work is heavily inspired by the looks of classic children's books he cherished during his own childhood; he tells mundane, everyday stories that resonate deeply with the viewer. By prioritizing traditional mediums, Ian brings an organic quality to both his characters and their environments. His work aims to create a universal language of comfort, inviting every viewer to find a piece of themselves, reflect, go back in time, and also to be present, even for just a moment in time. Through his participation in JICAF 2026, Ian hopes to connect with fellow storytellers and share the scenes of everyday life that are often overlooked.
